Day 1: flight Denpasar – Labuan Bajo

Flight from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo. On arrival in Labuan Bajo there is a minibus waiting for us to bring us to the hotel.
In the afternoon there is time to relax, to go to a nearby beach or to wander around in Labuan Bajo.


Day 2: Labuan Bajo – Waerebo

Early morning starts the scenic drive from Labuan Bajo to Denge through a mountainous area with beautiful panoramic views, villages and rice fields. (Around 5 to 6 hours drive). In the village of Lembor you can have an early lunch or buy a packed lunch for a picnic later on the road. Around midday you will arrive in Denge and will start the hike up to Wae Rebo village. A trekking uphill through the rainforest with 3 posts (around 3-4 hours):
Post 1: Wae Lomba – a creek as the beginning point for the trekking.
Post 2: Pocoroko a vantage point for picturesque views towards the Savu Sea in the south.
Post 3: Nampe Bakok – a place where you will have a complete view over the traditional village of Wae Rebo.
Spend the afternoon in the village to comprehend the local way of life and enjoy the surroundings. Overnight in a common traditional house. (Dinner will be provided in the village)


Day 3: Waerebo – Ruteng

In the morning after breakfast starts the trekking back to Denge, the same way back but this time downhill (around 2-3 hours). The car waits for you at Denge village. You can have lunch in Denge and then go on to Ruteng. Here we spend the night.


Day 4: Ruteng – Bajawa

In the morning we can go to the colorful market of Ruteng. After that we we drive up to Ranamese Lake. We make a stop here to have a look over this mysterious lake. Half an hour before Bajawa, in Aimere, we can see how the local people make their traditional palm wine (Arak). We continue to Bajawa and have lunch there. After lunch we go to visit the relatively new volcano (Wawo Muda) with his colored lakes. This volcano erupted in January 2001 and the scenery is still fascinating. The trekking to the craters will take around three hours go and back.  We go back to Bajawa where we spend the night.


Day 5: Bajawa – Riung

After breakfast we first visit the colorful market of Bajawa and then go to the traditional village Bena. After that we continue our trip to Riung. We can take our lunch at the hot spring of So’a. In the afternoon we arrive in Riung where we will spend the night.


Day 6: Riung

We go out with the boat for a whole day of snorkeling, swimming and relaxing on the beach in the national park with its 17 island. We have lunch on the beach. We spend another night in Riung.


Day 7: Riung – Moni

After breakfast we continue our trip to Moni.  Just before entering the city of Ende we visit the Blue Stone Beach. On this beach and in the surroundings you can find the nice shaped blue stones.
In Ende we have lunch. In the afternoon we drive up to Moni to find accommodation for the night. After dinner there is time to see the traditional dance of Moni/Ende.


Day 8: Moni – Maumere

Very early in the morning we drive up to Kelimutu to see the three colored lakes at sunrise. Here we walk up to a viewpoint and have a spectacular view over the three lakes. Then there is the possibility to hike down (one and a half hour) to Moni or go back with the car. In the afternoon we visit the traditional kings house in Wolowaru and continue to Maumere where we spend the night. Here our trip ends.


Day 9:  Maumere – Denpasar

The staff of the hotel will bring you to the airport for your flight back to Bali.
